The coverages included in the final prices of the vehicle leasing companies are different and adapted to the needs of each traveler. It is important for you before signing the leasing contract to be properly informed about the coverages included in the price paid. The coverage offered by each rental company varies according to its policy. Below we list and analyze the coverages we use in our company, DK rentals, so that you are properly informed and can easily choose what suits you:

Third-party coverage (THD)

Third party coverage is the simple insurance provided on all vehicles. The rented vehicle is your responsibility and anything that happens must be covered with your own funds. In the event of an accident where another driver is responsible, a statement should be made between the drivers involved and the person at fault should be held responsible so that you are exempted from charges. In case of total theft, the renter is responsible for the compensation of the entire vehicle.

Full Coverage with Waiver (CDW)

In this case, the DK rentals company has set an amount per vehicle category and if the renter chooses this type of insurance, in the event of damage the renter is charged up to the amount of the waiver. For example, if the car you rented from DK rentals has a €600 waiver and the damages exceed this amount, then your charge will only be up to the amount of the €600 waiver. The same applies in case of total theft of the vehicle. In case the damages do not exceed the waiver amount, then you are charged only the part of the waiver amount according to the damage assessment by the company. You should know that damage to tires and windows is not covered by this insurance.

Below we list the waivers per vehicle category:

  • Car Group A-B-C-D-E: €500
  • Car Group I-L-M: €1500
  • Scooters: €300
  • Quads: €400
  • Buggies: €700

Full Coverage without waiver (SCDW)

Full coverage without waiver is the provision that covers you to a very large extent for anything that happens to the vehicle. In this case the renters are not charged with any compensation for anything that happens to the car body. Damage to tires and windows are not covered under this insurance either. You will need to choose another benefit to cover these damage categories.

It is important to know that if DK rentals recognizes fraud or negligence on the part of the renter for damage or theft of the vehicle then it has the right to terminate the signed contract and claim compensation.

Theft Insurance

Here the renter is 100% covered only in case of theft of their vehicle.
