On our way to Naoussa and further to the west we come upon Kolimbithres (the baptismal fonts) beach and right next to it Monastiri beach. These two are among the most popular, and at times crowded, beaches on the island. The reason of course is their unique scenery; in Kolimbithres alongside the sandy beach there are giant rock formations in various shapes, due to thousands of years of decomposition. These rocks often have natural cavities filled with seawater that look like baptismal fonts.
Monastiri and Kolimbithres are the ideal destination during the wind season in July and August. Both beaches are accessible by car but you can also go by boat which departs from the bay of Naoussa.
